For simplification, the MFDF references have all been utilizing "LC" fiber optic connectors. LC connectors are commonly available and low-cost. It is reccomended to source and test with LC connectors when following this guide for simplification

When choosing alternative optical fiber connectors, it is important that the connector matches the connector type built into the SFP module (Small Form factor Pluggable) sourced. Note the difference in specs between connectors, and ensure the alternative connector supports the range and specifications of its respective application.
